We’re excited to share some wonderful news at Rooted Psychotherapy and Counseling — please join us in welcoming our newest Clinical Intern, Ava Casiano! At Rooted Psychotherapy and Counseling in Cherry Hill, NJ, we are deeply committed to nurturing growth — not only for our clients, but also for emerging professionals in the counseling field. Ava joins us in a support-focused clinical internship role, helping strengthen the care and coordination that happens behind the scenes.

Supporting Clinical Excellence Behind the Scenes

Ava brings warmth, organization, and a strong commitment to ethical, client-centered care. In her internship, she will be supporting our clinical team through responsibilities such as:

• Assisting with documentation review and clinical organization

• Supporting treatment planning preparation

• Helping coordinate resources and referrals

• Contributing to research and evidence-based practice initiatives

• Assisting with program development and quality improvement efforts

While Ava will not be providing direct patient services, her work plays an important role in ensuring that our clinicians are fully supported and that our systems remain thoughtful, efficient, and client-centered.

Academic Background & Professional Development

Ava is currently completing her graduate studies at Walden University, where she is developing a strong foundation in counseling theory, ethics, multicultural awareness, and evidence-based practice.Her internship with our team allows her to deepen her understanding of clinical operations, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the systems that support high-quality mental health care. This experience provides valuable exposure to the day-to-day functioning of a private practice while reinforcing best practices in ethical and professional standards.
